Taz the German Sheprador at the age of tenâ "Taz is a cross between a German Shepherd and a Yellow Lab. He goes berserk on the snow and on the sea. He'll exhibit the Lab's liveliness and the Shepherd's intellect, and is an expert at sneaking away for walks on his own. He's one of the greatest dogs we've ever owned, and he's really beautiful! I am an active participant in a program called Freedom Tails. Since 2009, I've been the newsletter's editor and photographer, in addition to overseeing all other aspects of the program. Even last year, I became an AKC Good Citizen Evaluator. The program is housed in Stafford Creek Corrections Center in Aberdeen, Washington, a men's prison with roughly 2000 inmates. We rescue shelter dogs that would otherwise be killed, retrain them in social skills and basic instructions, and reintroduce them to society via adoption.
