Young Frankenstein is one of the most amusing films ever made! I saw this film upon my arrival in New York City as an adolescent. I was taken to watch it by some pals. In 1975, I was perplexed by a black-and-white film. Indeed, I was perplexed by everything. I like it when Igor goes to acquire a brain and chooses the one that says âAbnormalâ but interprets it as âAbby Normal.â
That scenario has lingered with me for decades, often eliciting a small giggle. It exemplifies the frenzy Wilder appeared incapable to contain for an extended period of timeâa force simply ready to explode out at any moment. Such moments are not difficult to remember for anybody who admired Wilder's insane, comedic brilliance.
